Holy Trinity Eco Warriors and Cookstown Primary School got together for a joint litter pick to highlight the on-going issues of littering within the Cookstown District. The award winning Holy trinity warriors mentored the younger Eco team pupils from the Cookstown Primary school and shared good practice.
The day was further added by the surprise showing of Pudsey, who also lifted litter. The event was organised by the Environmental Health Department Enforcement/Neighbourhood Officer Marcus Blemmings who was pleased with the level of commitment from the EcoWarriors and Cookstown Primary School Eco Team.
The event is part of an on-going education programme be the Environmental Health Department’s Clean Neighbourhood Programme which aims to educate school children on the detrimental effects littering has on our area both in the classroom and out on the ground where numerous children have benefitted from presentations and organised litter picks in the Cookstown District.
